Is it really necessary for every member to show every coin of every ruler even when the same type has already been shown? Post like this become ponderous when we don't keep it moving. I know we have a member with several hundred coins of an emperor coming soon and most of us will have a few of his. I'm thinking of Probus here but when we get to the Constantinian dynasty the situation repeats over and over.

Well, I do have a Zenobia if you don't mind it being tooled from a Flavian as trying to make the R2/rare Alexandrian tetradrachm. ....or perhaps they were trying for a nonexistant bronze denomination??? The fabric is so wrong it took me a while to figure out what they were trying to do. My favorite part is turning the SC of the as into LE dating the reverse. I will point out tht LE and Elpis are the correct details for a Zenobia from Alexandria so this coin has a lot of thought and execution points even though it is 100% fake. I bought this as a fake but would really like to know who made it, when and if anyone ever was fooled by the coin. If I could prove that this was sold to a filthy rich aristocrat in 1700 this fake would be worth a lot more than the $10 I paid for it. I don't know if Zenobia was actually all that cute but starting with a Vespasian era face was really quite a stretch.

I don't have Tacitus or Florian yet, so I have to sit on the sidelines for a bit.

A few that I like from Tacitus:

I just like how the contrast between the dirt and green patina make the portrait look on this one.

The obverse is terrible but I love the reverse figure.

    One from Florianus:

And... after buying a couple cruddy "check the box" Florians. I finally paid too much to get a nicer one. Now I need to sell my cruddy ones!

Was there a Roman emperor that didn't have a coin with his portrait on it( or commemorative of the person?)

Yes. Several usurpers (heck, they still haven't made my coin yet). There are some that we only know of from the coins. Scroll through the link that lordM attached for wild winds list of emps. You'll see em.

I hope you're pronouncing that the correct Latin way:

I actually DO! My wife is always ticked off with me as I will pronounce English words like Latin - I do NOT speak it. Drives her nuts
