Hi Coin Talk, I am not sure if I posted this in the past, but I have this 1898 O Morgan dollar that is slabbed by NGC. It is a pretty nice coin. My grandpa gave it to me a year ago , I just wanted to see if it truly is the grade that it was graded as. Let me know what you think. Thanks ! ( I will post pictures of the whole slab after Christmas )

Go to NGC and post the number of the slab. It should verify you what it was graded at. It is a beautiful coin. In MHO I'd go for MS63D.

Pictures on the internet are definitely not going to be the determiner (is that a word?) of that!

I'd guess 63-64 based on the pictures and like mentioned above great looking luster probably looks awesome in hand

I really like this one. It has a decent strike which is not common for New Orleans. The luster looks nice and strong and the number of hits really are not that high, there are none that really jump out as large. I think the darker spots we are seeing are more of a frost break rather than a hit. I will guess it's a nice MS-64.

I would like this in MS63, but I think it graded MS64.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

I am going to say 64. If we could see better pictures of the obverse I could say with more confidence - there appears to be a few marks on the cheek, but they don't look severe.

You are getting low guesses because the pictures are kind of dark, and are small. This could hide a lot of problems, so people will guess more conservatively.
