Hi All... I’ve searched everywhere and can’t seem To find anything similar to this. Figured I’d upload the pic and get your 2 cents (pun intended) Around all of the lettering and image there appears a very symmetrical lighter shade of metal. Only portion of front of coin shown. Thanks!
Just a guess, but I would say someone cleaned it up, not being able to get the areas close to the letters, and devices.
Interesting thought... the entire coin looks this way... almost as if someone did clean it and used a stencil ... ?
Looks like someone may have just rubbed it between their fingers or did clean it with a cloth. Something was built up on its surface and what’s left is what wasn’t touched. Neat looking
I'd guess fingers/cloth cleaning too. Try it ... take a black crayon and rub it all in everything then use your finger or a cloth and lightly clean it. It'll probably look the same if you don't start scrubbing in all the details.
