A nicely diverse group! The owl tet's reverse is fantastic-- I love seeing the full square punch. The Constantine VIII is gorgeous! An Antony/Octavian denarius would be welcome in almost any ancient coin collection.

Those are some great coins @arnoldoe Your Constantine VIII Histamenon is a real stunner and the Athens tet is a beauty. Congrats on acquiring a really nice selection of coins in 2018.

All are enviable additions to your collection, but my favorite is the Marcus Herennius Denarius because of the reverse type. I love mythological/legendary scenes on coins: It depicts one of the Catanaean brothers carrying his father to safety during the eruption of Mount Etna!

The top 5 coins are beautiful, but I'm a little partial to the Marcus Antonius portrait. Good year for you.

I'm partial to the Herennius as well, and even more so given the Haeberlin and Stoecklin provenances. The Byzantine gold really stands out as well, and the reverse of the Athens tet is very nearly perfect. I also love the dark jade-green patina of that Crispina. All in all, a great assortment of top coins. Congrats!

Pavlos You pick out the big men. I'll make them brave!

Gorgeous coins! I love the AV Histamenon, the only Byzantine coins I collect is with Jesus on it, this one is great. Also great Athens owl and Marcus Herennius Denarius! The Commodus Sestertius is nice and big :)

Very happy to see two AMCC coins on the list. :) That Constantius was one of my favourites from the Jamesicus collection. Of course the Const. VIII and the owl are true stunners. Am I right to surmise you benefited from the coin community's nose fetish on that owl? If so, that was a great move, IMO. What a phenomenal coin!

How did I miss this wonderful list? I love the Constantius Chlorus among all winners. I nearly bid on that one, but I sensed it might go high-ish, so I bid on its only slightly less impressive neighbor. I'm very happy with it, but part of me wishes I had made a run that that one too. At least it found a good home. Its Pickering companion:

Great lookin' group, and I dig that group pic! Your top coins are show stoppers, but how pretty is that green patina on the Crispina as?

Great year. You seem to be a generalist like I am. My favorites are the Athens and Herennius but all would be welcome in my collection.

The owl and Constantine VIII are indeed unbeatable, but I fell in love with Marcus Herennius denarius.
