Sassanian coin just for fun

    This is a coin I need to take out and admire more often. Seem to remember that it is Varhran V. I could never figure out the nature of the diagonal line coming from the flames. Maybe an error.

    The diagonal line is actually a large tasty sausage being roasted by the fella on the left. :D

    I've always liked Sassanian coins; their big wide flans are impressive and their aesthetic is appealing, but couldn't identify any of them off-hand if my life depended on it.

    Nice type, standing out among similars also because of the head of Ahura Mazda in the flames.
