Nice I bough one like that and I think someone wanted to re certify and 1859-0 off the republic and it came back cleaned but itlooked just like the 1859-0 that I bought from the republic I didn’t pay a lot 4 it
Completed my Ike set with this one. I wanted to find it at a show but no one had one so I had to resort to Ebay
Both are MS-63s. Lincoln is an 09-VDB 63 BN. Still has awesome luster though. I put in a very high bid but nobody was home that night so i got it way cheaper than was anticipating. Took quite a few tries to get the owner of this barber dime to let it go. Got it re-holdered in a fresh new slab. Hard to post just two but these were my favs. ( Even though they're "damaged". lol)
That 1795 Dollar is Golden!!!!! GOLDEN!!!! It's just oozing eye appeal!!!! The mark and blemish free surfaces on a coin that size is impressive, I think my heart skipped a little bit. That HAS to have a CAC sticker, right MessyDesk????
Thanks! No CAC sticker, but I haven't submitted it. I did get similar reactions from some dealers I showed it to after buying it who know their stuff, and those didn't cost me anything. Maybe I'll try it at CAC someday, but it's not a priority right now.
Your coin has to be one of the finest circulated examples in existence. What with the CAC craze I'm surprised it isnt- it looks like a shoe in for one. But it's nice to see some coins survive without them. If I were a dollar collector I would be coveting that. The absence of marks, hits or scratches is breathtaking and picture perfect. I know I'm repeating myself my bad lol but I'm so impressed. Thanks for sharing MessyDesk.
Just so you know, many of us have never submitted a coin to CAC in our entire lives, nor are we inclined to ever do so.
Same here. I think the whole premise is a total joke, and have for years. But other Numismatists like them, and we can't change that fact so I just accept them and what they do. But I will not pay moon money because of a Green or Gold sticker; it has zero impact on my purchases.
Not really. An expert noticed that PCGS and NGC were inconsistent and set off to hold them to a more-consistent standard. How the market responds to the presence of the stickers might be the joke, though.
I don't want to turn the highlight thread into another banal CAC debate. You're more than welcome to your opinion though.
It has to be either my 1868 hub through IHC: Or the two 1925-S/S nickels I bought a week apart from each other:
