I would just leave it alone. Assuming it isn't a proof coin, it won't affect the value much either way since it is basically silver bullion.

Exactly what did you buy stainless ? If it is truly .999 silver as you said - it is not even a coin. It would be a silver replica.

Sometimes if you are lucky, you can remove fingerprints. But they would have to be "fresh" from what I've read. Even then it's not guareenteed they won't come back. If they've been there awhile, then they are there to stay. I could be wrong, and if I am, someoe will come along to straigten me out soon. :D

i have seen dealers at coin shows tell their customers that they will take the finger print of the coins and then they take a cotton swab and start rubbing chemicals and the buyer hoping desperately. its quite hilarious though avoid fingerprinted coins if you can. can you return the coin back to the dealer stainless?

If the print has been there for a while (1+ yr), it's probably too late.
The organic acids have done their thing.

If it's been only for a short time, I suggest acetone and a Q-tip (very lightly) with a distilled water rinse (2-3 times) and a pat dry with a lintless cotton cloth (again very lightly.)
