I am relatively new to coin collecting and need help deciding on whether to get these newly acquired coins graded. I do not know whether I should use NGC or PCGS and will most likely end up reselling these coins. I paid $68 for the barber half, $32 for the Indian head, and $70 for the peace. Any advice and/or an estimate of what grade you think they'll receive would be much appreciated! https://imgur.com/gallery/Y4Ecn3L
Beg to differ on the Barber -- it's a common date, but uncommon condition, probably AU58 IMHO, and well above the threshold where grading might be worthwhile. I can't tell if it's problem-free from these photos, but it looks promising. I would've grabbed it at that price, and I'm a cheapskate. The Peace dollar is harshly cleaned (lots of hairlines on both faces); I'm afraid you'll have a hard time reselling it for more than you paid. I won't venture an opinion on the cent. The photos are too small and dark, and I don't know enough about grading or valuing cents. Welcome to CoinTalk!
I wouldn't grade any of them. I doubt you can recover your money now. Put the Barber Half in an air tight and call it good.
Can you post close up pics of the Barber half? The others are definitely not worth grading, but the Barber half warrants sharper pics.
I would not send this coin in for grading. A strong XF, maybe a weak AU. Also looks to have been cleaned some time ago. Nice enough to protect it so get an airtight and do it yourself.
