Is this a planchet issue? Lamination? Strike thru? Straight Line, Looks like it runs underneath of the bust. I bought 5 (same token) of these all pristine and this was the only one that had the Dee-fect.Big crater behind his head too In case you missed it, the 6 has a set of horns sprouting.....thanks for looking
It could be, i took the photo at an angle.so its gonna make the 1 look a squoze taller i reckon but that 9 is curled up pretty good right?
Im glad you saw this right away- I thought a lam at first too but what about that distinct pattern?? That gives me pause- like a chain strike thru kinda sorta ? Idk The rims seem to be unaffected FWIW
The Cent was forced into the Lucky Cent Holder.. It distorts it a bit. They are a bit smaller than a normal Cent when removed from the encasement
I thought that a possibility too, like machine damage of sorts? The other 4 same tokens didnt have it though so...
This thread brought to you- by my favorite beer. Also, by my favorite Morgan- Sorry for the spam, trying to link this somewhere needed a portal/doorway
Looks like a lamination from what I can see. And, as mentioned, it's a small date, and has a blob (minor die chip) in the B of Liberty and probably in the '6' of the date too.
Cool !! I guess halfway decent finds come in bunches.... ive found quite a few interesting Lincolns going thru them lately I like the fact that this is a shell case alloy, which lends credit to the name for this one- assassination Lincoln
Never heard of it, but i am a south-ender so i dont venure that way much, only for work. Sounds good though- My favorite beer is actually whiskey
You hillbillies pushed my legit mint error to page 2 THAT FAST? I guess we opened the error coin floodgate space continuum
