Somewhat low serial number (I think) is it worth anything more than $20 or just go ahead and spend it?

    1) I'm not much of a paper currency collector. I dabble.
    2) I REALLY like this note.
    3) GREAT condition, it appears.
    4) I would pay double face for it.
    5) This is NOT an offer, per se. I THINK that might break a rule.
    6) I'm saying, if it were at an auction I was at, I'd bid and not stop until it got to $40. It MIGHT be worth more than that.
    7) Why? Two things. a) low serial number, and b) star note.

Would have been cool if there actually was a 05419 zip code in MA.

Maybe I’ll stick it on the old Ebay or something and see, thanks for the reply! If you would happen to be interested just let me know (if that’s allowed lol)

    That would be pretty cool

Well, I don't want to short offer you, so if you're an eBay seller, give 'er a whirl once around with a $40 reserve. If it doesn't sell, give me a "PM", called a "Conversation" here, and we'll talk.

Reserve is just a waste of money. And if you sell it for 40, you'll pay almost 6 in fees + 4 in shipping + 2 for reserve + whatever gas money to postal office. Not to mention your time.

I was thinking that too. I'm no eBay selling expert AT ALL. I just don't want the guy shortchanged. He's young and deserves to get what he can out of it. I'm open to suggestions.

I typically don’t use the reserve (seems like a waste of money to me) and you can set to where the buyer pays for shipping so that would limit those two, of course I would have to pay some to eBay but anything extra I make is a little extra I make.

I put ‘er up on there for 12:00 this afternoon so we’ll see what others think about it lol

I'm new to this forum and now im curious did anything come of your bill on ebay?

  14. I think $40 is an outstanding offer.

No, it had some interest but ended up not selling. I actually forgot about it until I got an email saying you replied to my thread so it’s still sitting in my cabinet haha.

That $40 offer may not have been 100% serious, and I don't
believe a note over #5000 is considered low.
Traditionally, you want #100 or less, but it has been expanded to under 1000. But the lower the better. 200 is better than 900.

Low is 999 and under, i.e., in the hundreds.

The rarity on the star note lookup site is on the low side so that doesn't add anything extra. I have had a middle of the road $10 bill for sale for a while and nobody has bit. It's just one of those things, keep putting it up there if you wish. You never know and you get so many free listings it shouldn't hurt your total unless you really put a lot up.
