The old group has been gone for a LONG time. The new customer service crew has been good for years now
Not in comparison with the primary competition, it's not. Every time Apple introduces a new iPhone, it's "the best iPhone we've ever had". So what? You don't get to compare yourselves with the jerks you used to be.
Has been in my experience. If you approach them aggressively though I can see how that wouldn't work well.
OTOH, osculate their glutes sufficiently and keep relentlessly (nauseatingly) promoting them in online forums, and yeah, they might like you a bit.
It looks like you will have someone new to kiss up to... How long before we see Mr. Charville parroted around here?
Nope, they have absolutely no idea who I am. I am nothing but an average Joe to them. Being polite goes a long way with the CS people who deal with crazies all day long.
He seems really young. His CV didn't seem to have a whole lot of "running a company" experience, even if he's been in the business for a while. Well, I hope he can do a good job and restore a burning ship.
Mr. Charville completed a merger of his Standard Numismatics, LLC with RARCOA back at the beginning of November ahead of his new position at PCGS. His professional focus has appeared to be wholesaling, both at Heritage as well as that being the focus of Standard (also including pop art, comic art, etc). As well, he has also held position with the (dealer-centric) PNG. Best of luck to him!
I looked him up after posting a bit and it seems that like you posted he was the head of that and a former heritage buyer as well as someone who seemed to be involved in counterfeit detection and grading courses. Maybe @Insider could tell us more but seems like he was someone that’s been pretty involved behind the scenes
