Hey guys, I hope that everyone is having a good day. I need help identifying close spread double dies. What to look for, how to tell if I've found a close spread double die, how to tell if a letter is notched, etc etc (everything from A-Z if it's not obvious doubling). It's confusing starting out, but I'm determined to learn more about it so please bear with me. The pics that I'm including in this post are being directly compared to Wexler's listing on his website: 1999-D 1c WDDO-001. Coin collecting has become a big hobby for me and is something I'm very passionate about. I've found many error coins and have ran across a lot of neat finds, but doubling is still something that I continue to struggle with.
Even I can see the doubling on IN. Great shots! Edit: what scope are you using? I am expecting a light box for Christmas and need to buy a scope next.
Thanks for the input guys, it lets me know that I'm on the right track. I'm slowly learning more about doubling, it's just hard to tell the difference sometimes between DD and worn dies. I'm using an Andonstar 500x USB microscope/endoscope.
