Those obverse letters look doubled, but I don't see this DDO in the Cherrypicker's Guide. Is it a different one? Or is it nothing? Thanks to any and all for the comments. @ldhair

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

You looking at the D in United? That looks like it is re-engraved to me, not hub-doubled. The S of States also looks repunched. Hub-doubling would show traces on more than just those two letters - especially for a blunder that large. These look more like "repunched letters" to me.

Also, as you should know, Cherrypickers is a very random selection of some so-called choice varieties, and not even remotely a reference. Cherrypicker's Guide is utterly useless, in my opinion. This variety is probably enumerated in Snow's book, but I don't have a copy.

There's a lot of varieties not mentioned in CPG like the 1882 Broken 2 IHC and the 1868 Hub Through IHC.

Rick has this listed as S14 DDO. Die stage B. He calls the look of the ED S to be die damage, irregular die defect. You should see some minor doubling on UN of UNITED.
    Nice coin.

Yes, the entire word "UNITED" has some doubling. Thanks. I've seen one of these before, but it was long ago and I couldn't find that info. Appreciate it.
