What do you do about flip static? i try and try to keep stuff clean but they rub together and seem to make more static. Ahk!
Personally, I have never liked vinyl flips. Have you considered another method of storage or are you particularly fond of these?
BTW these r mylar pvc free. a bit stiffer than the vinyl. Ok i'll bite, what do U (all) use for long term storage? i'm not crazy over paper or plastic tubes. Most coin holders cost quite bit more than a flip. multiply this by several hundred pieces your talking lot of cash. Thanks for all your collective help all ready! Steve
Intercept Sheilds for my good stuff with Avery labels (.5" by 1.75") printed on the outside with date and mint mark on line #1 (#12 arial bold font) and mintage numbers on the second line (#8 regular arial font). I use to list the grade, but too many would say, "that is a MS62, not a MS63..." so I don't list "my grade" anymore. I use 2x2's with the same avery label print set-up stored in a 3 ring binder for the common stuff. Flips scare me because too many elements are exposed to the coin and I hear stories about some flips scratching coins as they are slid in.
Soft ones have PVC, stiff ones can scratch, non-flip storage is available without PVC or scratch danger. Your choice for your coins.
I use the Kointain Saflips. Once I place the coin in the flip I impulse seal the coin inside. This protects it from the elements. I have stored these coins in this manner for years without a problem of any kind. I know there are collectors who claim that the flip can scratch the coin. Well in my 45 years of collecting no one have ever shown me a coin that was scratched by a flip. I've seen a lot of scratched coins in that time but not done by a flip. catman
I really like the presentation that the Intercept Shields make. And I don't think the protection can be beat.
I like my airtites Ed, but for my next major collection I think I am going to look into the Intercept Shields. Thanks for the picture.
