1973D Stupid Question

    I am not sure what a DD on the columns are so on this penny is the little line on the right of the first column and the left of the last column. I have seen photos of the DD on the columns, but I am not sure what they are talking about.

    You're talking about the lines that show up to the right of the left-hand columns and the lines that show on the left of the right-hand columns correct? Those aren't DD, that's part of the design to give it a little 3D effect. They are very faint and over time can start to disappear, but you will notice them on cents in really good condition like a proof or high graded cent.

    Please don't use the word stupid in your title. Your questions are important. How else will you learn? That's what your trying to do right?

    Ok thank you. I am going by what I read on the sites that DD's and couldn't figure out the column lines. So I am going back to look again at column DDs.

    Brenda Brown, I've always been told the only stupid question is the one you don't ask. There is no such thing as a stupid question especially when trying to learn something new.
