Hey it’s actually still worth more than face value. At least it’s not a zincoln with terminal zinc rot
Did my fat-fingered poking at my phone unintentionally hit the dang Best Answer button again? If so, I didn't see it. You see, the link for that is in close proximity to other links at the bottom of each post, so sometimes I'm going for the "like" or "quote" button and hit Best Answer, instead. But usually that lights the BA post up in green. So I dunno.
That one might not be so super rare, but this one is an insane rarity. It's an off-metal unstruck key date (1979), ddo unlisted trial (un)strike missing mintmark Lincoln cent from the Detroit Mint. It is on a defective (holed) steel planchet. The quality control workers at the Detroit Mint were really off point letting this one get through. i'm calling Heritage tomorrow and consigning it. I'm going to retire off of this baby!
Proof positive that Da Gummint WERE a'fixin' ta create a new bimetal $3.33 cent coin, affectionately known as the "turd". One turd of an eagle. The inner plug, made of "more or less depleted-ish uranium" is missing from this sample. The uranium/steel boundary was intended to exude a polishing compound, so the end user could "polish a turd". Gently abrading metal from the rim results in the very rare and very dangerous $pi coin. Secretary Munchkin, pictured below (center), found this last part to be "irrational", rejected it out of his very small hand, and warned complainers he would not repeat himself, nor would such a coin's value, right of the decimal point.
one turd of an eagle lol 3 turds is 1 turdlet (0.01) short of a full eagle ( 3x3.33=9.99 ). Is it 1 turdlet or is it a klingon?
What? You never heard the old sayin' that "t'ree t'irds n' a penny makes an eagle"? I'm frankly shocked. You have to constantly stay vigilant to the circumstance when your t'irds turn into a Klingon, after all. I've seen that happen to a cat. It's not a good look.
