I believe you are correct! I don't believe it is either. I wrote him an email stating this and he sent me one back going off the handle, quite rudely!!
Tom, Well, I definitely would not buy a coin that is a questionable Matte Proof and I never buy from rude Sellers! These are usually the transactions that you have trouble with. The Seller has more than likely had the coin checked out by either a TPG, by a TPG Representative at a Coin Show or some other known Expert in Matte Proof Coins. Therefore, the Seller either knows that it is not a Matt Proof or is in denial and believes his or her assessment over their's! Frank
If he wrote you back a rude email "flying off the handle", then you should not respond and move on, or if you feel adventurous, say this: " I will be happy to have you add the certification fee if you would like to send the coin off to PCGS, NGC, ANACS-ICG. after the coin comes back genuine, please tack on your submission and grading fee and I will be happy to pay it " Bet you will not hear anything back.
