Hello ladies and gents . I believe that I just recently found what appears to be a 1982 D with an extra D near the words In God We trust . So I'm wondering has anyone ever seen this type of error before ?

Looks like there is also a raised line going from the lapel straight to it. That's an awesome find.

That line looks to be a Linear Plating bubble on your 1982 Copper Plated Zinc Cent. It turned into a weird raised Plating Bubble at one end.
Looks like a D but it is really not.

Could be a dropped element .
Looks recessed in the field too ..

I thought that.. Too small to match the Mint Mark.. That would be the only Letter to match it to. Just some crazy plating bubble.

We would need some closeups, to know for sure what's going on .

Now that's pretty neat even if I don't see anything suggesting it's otherwise special or noteworthy.

Anyway you can get a good clear shot of the entire front/obverse? I'm pretty sure it's not another mint mark, but I'm looking for something else

:wacky: Maybe it was a small dime D punch dropped onto the die.
