What kind of error is this ?

    First of all.. That's a Way Off Center Strike

    The lettering looks the Way it does because it's a Copper Plated Zinc Cent.. So when it is struck the way it is it will have Split Plating!

    Sometimes it not a huge loss. $6 for for the coin and $4 for the knowledge you gained.

    I said $5-6 retail, because if you look for 'em
    with a little bit of effort, that's what you can buy
    them for.

    Yes, there are sellers asking $10, $20, and even more,
    so paying $10 isn't so bad - just a bit higher retail.

    You did fine at that price.
