Whenever I see the same toning patterns and color schemes on ASEs and Morgans I am suspect. Because it should take many years for such toning to develop naturally. So when a 2009 coin and a 1887 both have the same toning it makes you wonder.

I wouldn’t either. And I’m not convinced yet that this is AT. I’d like to see more info posted but there are no concrete answers and those that might know aren’t sharing the full story.

There was a mention that John Albanese has seen these and won’t sticker them since he feels it’s AT. However, he doesn’t post that viewpoint on any public forum so it’s only hearsay at this point.

If someone knows John Albanese, please ask him about this and share your results! (This isn’t directed at you physics, it’s for anyone that might know him).

I'd say you, and everybody else, has seen a whole lot of AT - but you just didn't realize that it was AT. Ya see, that's the whole point, when it's done right nobody realizes it is AT.

And the 'if true" part - how would one ever know, how could you prove it ? There is no scientific test you can do that identifies AT or NT because toning is toning - it's all the same. Even if somebody came forward and claimed to be the person who was doing it - people would simply call him a liar - and claim that it couldn't be done.

There is only 1 thing that proves anything - that's standing there and watching them do it. And I've done that. But few if any ever believe me either.

But before you make up your mind, ask yourself one question - why would I ever say such a thing if it were not true ? I don't buy coins, I don't sell coins, I don't even collect coins. And have not for 12 years now. And I have absolutely nothing to gain, in any way, by saying something that is not true. So why would I do it ?

Simple answer, because it is true, always has been true, and I'm merely trying to inform people of that fact because they need to know it !

This man is amazing at doing beautiful toned colors. I would still pay a high price for these because of the beauty (even though they're fake) and the skill it takes to make PCGS call it real.

OMG I just looked at the link in the original post... That was a $500 loss! I am genuinely sorry for the buyer. This is also why I don't throw too much money at anything.
