I just began this journey 2 months ago with pennies. I was thinking about going to nickels, but, I hear the nickel roll hunting is much more competitive.

I've found several 1909-P's in circulation. They aren't all that rare given their relatively high mintage for that time (72 million). The oldest "low mintage" wheat I ever found in circulation is 1911-S (4 million).

Cool. Well, I've found some in the teens, but not in great shape. I found a 193, which was a very low mintage year. From what I read. But it's supposed to be 1931 s that's worth something. Lots of 20s and 30s. though.

1917 But that was about 1967. It was in pretty good condition, perhaps an XF. I still have it in one of my old Whitman penny books.

1910 P LDS but got an excellent 52-S this morning in change from the local Sonic. Monday was a 1957A $1 Silver Cert. Star note again in change from a convenience store which made me happy because the Mrs. accidentally spent a $5 Sil. Cert. Star the same day!

I apologize for the picture quality. This old wheat was in a jar of wheats my late father had collected, along with several others...

I've been at it over a year now and still haven't decided on a particular...can't think if the word...denomination? Lol Anyway, I love them all! I don't know if I want to choose. Then I would be wondering what I was missing. :)

1909 was my oldest find many years ago. It was very worn. I cannot get a picture because it is now mixed in with all my other wheat cents.

I found a 1909 in circulation when I was a kid in the mid 1960s.

The 1909 was very common in circulation when I started in 1957. The lowest (old) mintage I found was a '14-S.

The oldest I've found in the last 30 years was a 1919-S. The lowest mintage I've found was a '68-S proof.
