The 1943 cents were made from steel but not stainless steel. I don't know of any stainless steel coins.

Some Italian coins from 1939 to 1943 were minted in stainless steel. 20 Centesmi, 50 Centesmi, Lire and 2 Lire denominations.

According to http://www.coinscan.com/for/mad.html the Canadian mint made stainless steel coins for Madascar in 10, 20 and 50 Ariary denominations.

According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_Indian_coins), India makes several stainless steel coins. Stainless steel coinage of 10, 25 and 50 paise, was introduced in 1988 and in 1992, a new stainless steel rupee coin was minted.

I have the Canadian Ruby-throated hummingbird coin, which is beautiful. It's not stainless steel, but nickel-coated steel. You might like this one.

Quick scans of my 1940 Italian 20 Centesmi minted in Stainless Steel. It's not a very valuable coin- but I like it. And you never have to worry about toning!!!
