What is going on with this one? It looks like some cracking and has some odd coloration. Any help or insight is appreciated.
It looks like damage to me, but I suppose there's a possibility that could be a lamination. I'll defer to those with more error coin experience.
Given that much of the unaffected area on the coin appears to be Mint State with original luster, I'm leaning towards the messed-up portion of the reverse being a lamination. But wait for further opinions.
possible a improper alloy mix. But it looks like an edge there as well, as if possible a chemical was applied. can you provide pics at a angle to see the ridge of the anomaly better? And also taking it out of the flip will make for better photos.
