Never thought it would happen but after 8 months looking through rolls I finally found a 2009 D. Maybe by next year I might find a Philly.
For a minute I was like, "That's some really bad luck". Then I looked up the mintage... Anywhere from 5%-15% of other years.
All 16 I have are Denvers. 5 from metal detecting and 11 from a box of nickels a few years ago. (Maybe one or two from circulation.) Maybe I will get a Philly one day. Let me photo these bad boys.
I found a 2009 P in change once, but that was in early 2010. Still have it in my Jefferson folder next to an empty 2009 D hole.
Think the price on the rolls will go up or down in the future? Looks like BU rolls are going for 25-30 bucks on eBay. A similar thing happened with 1950D nickels right?
I've found nearly two rolls of 2009-D nickels, but only a handful of 2009-P. We get mostly Denver mint coins here in Texas.
I think all of the 2009 dimes I have are also D's. WAIT A MINUTE, 21 Denver and 1 hot Philly. 1 hearty pioneer made it across the mighty Mississippi.
7P 2D Finding them isn't to hard for me really, finding any in decent shape is difficult. I actually have found twice this many but only keep the nicer ones.
I’ve been lucky as far as the 2009 Jeff’s are concerned but it did take awhile to find a P and D in decent shape. Then last week going through a box I found 10 rolls marked as 2006-2011. Every coin in these rolls came from Denver. I’m in Florida so that in itself was remarkable. Out of those 10 rolls I found 13 Denvers and all in decent shape. An early Christmas present I guess.
