Is this coin real or fake? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/323557025000
I don't see anything that jumps out as fake. It's been damaged and harshly cleaned. Ask for the size and weight to be sure.
Hard to tell from the pics. I can see that the fields have been scrubbed extensively, it could have been done to disguise casting lumps and roughness but I can't say definitely without seeing the coin in hand.
I looked in the Mega RED book and does not mention copper coins, just says silver, but don't quote me on that, most were melted in 1900 when Hawaii became a territory. If I were you do some more research time is running short ,there are others. Check the seller out and see feedback and what has been sold. GOOD LUCK
Why take a chance when there are slabbed coins of the same year, currently cheaper? https://www.ebay.com/itm/1883-SILVE...itm=183551243634&_trksid=p2047675.c100623.m-1
The seller confirmed the copper listing is a mistake and it is silver. I am now the proud owner. I have a friend who has a scale and detector that can look at it.
Here is a quick summary of the coin: https://www.ngccoin.com/coin-explorer/hawaii-pscid-82/1883-hawaii-50c-ms-coinid-50022 Definitely do some additional checks when you have it in hand.
That one still has several days to go and looks to be a higher grade (although the newer PCI holders aren’t the most respected in terms of grade). So it will more than likely sell for a higher price than the coin in the first post.
