Just wanted to post a couple shots I took with a new photo setup to see how they look on here. New green felt background (ala @PaddyB ). CoinTalk allows such incredible zoom when I click on the photos. I like the way the silver photographs but I'm not sold on the copper.
They do look good Mark, but I think something is doing excessive colour re-balancing on the coppers? I have found I have had to go over to a completely manual set up using a tripod and delayed shutter release so that I can have an F stop of 16 and a long exposure (depending on how bright the coin is around 0.3 to 0.2 seconds). This works and seems to prevent the colour cast most of the time, except when it is a small copper coin on a large expanse of green, in which case I have to manually re-balance on the laptop afterwards. (On my camera it tilts heavily towards yellow but yours seems to go towards the blue.)
I switched the setup on the coppers. I'm taking with my phone so there isn't that much adjustability. New photos (with different app) are followed by original photos. Plus a bonus Civil war token...
The silver doesn't do as well in the new app...luckily it's just a thumbstroke to swap between the two.
You are getting that level of quality from your phone? ......Takes Nikon DSLR to rubbish can and sheds a tear.....
I really like the overall coloration & clairety on the civil war token especially. Your new app is great for coppers. Circulated silver is showing well, but I think you might have to tweak it a bit for Unc silver as the Loony is rather overexposed.
Unfortunately, I don't end up with lots of uncirculated silver. My phone is a Google pixel2 and the new app is called Camera MX I'll continue to tweak the silver settings.
