One Red Cent

    So I didn't post this one in errors because I don't think this is a planchet error. But on the other hand I can't imagine how this was accomplished. None the less I thought it to be cool looking and thought I would share here. Also the edge a has a vertical line that I have not seen before.     That is not a Red Cent.. It might be colored or looks red but it is not Red.
    More towards the Brown of the Numismatic Cent Color Chart -

    you're right about it not being an error. It's most likely environmental damage and probably related to whatever crud is on the reverse and stuck around the edges of the devices. The groove on the edge is some sort cut or PMD

    This type of red is environmental damage. I got one of these last week. Sorry for the crappy photo. Copper is reactive to the air, soil, water, pollutants and will change color.
