Use the NGC 1913-S 64RB as a comparison for color and texture of pictures, I have seen many of this sellers Lincolns in hand...they are killing themselves with poor pics on raw copper. Another gamble yes, BUT it might pay off big...... 13-S for comparison http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280188817001 my 26-S http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280190766624
Ooohh Jack that one is a gamble, I wish you luck. You wanna see my last two gambles???? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110213371241 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=350012744751&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=022 Im thinking I did good on mine. But Im not risking $200. I just missed out on a 1934-1958 BU red, full set. That one sold for $30, but the only reason it went cheap was, the folder looks like it got wet. And a few of the coins were heavily spotted. But most were still Nice full reds. I missed the auction end. Anyhow, goodluck with your gamble Jack.
Yes, it might pay off, but........ I saw that one and decided not to bid. I could not figure out why the coin was so nonuniform in color. I did not look at the rest of his coins. Maybe I should have.
WOW, that 11-D really stand out !!! Thats what I like, strong for the grade and overall really nice eye appeal !!! Should be well worth the $$$ even tho it is way over CDN, those things just happen, certain coins stand out above the rest. That 11-D is exceptional and a definate keeper. Nice job on the 09 also !!!
A guy at the monthly show here has bought from them, some really nice BU Lincolns dirt cheap, awesome in hand. Hard to believe the seller is using those crappy pics time and time again, they are killing his prices realised. I also was able to pick up a nice 31-S tonight, you had mentioned them in an email.....I agree with your email.
Hey Jack, 24D is one of the dates you like to mess with for your Ebay Store right??? Well, Im passing on this one due to a lack of funds. But heres the link. I can see a 24D that dont look too bad. And the 22D looks a bit better. http://cgi.ebay.com/3-Collector-Boo...ryZ11944QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Lets pass items thru PM's instead of the forum, but I do appreciate the heads up. There is a 24-D coming up in several days I'm focusing on...
Wow man, best of luck. :thumb: Can be a REAL big jump in value. Let us know when it gets to you. :thumb: Phoenix
Coin has arrived, fully mint state, but cleaned. Very 64ish, sharp struck and clean, but it has seen some MS-70 unfortunatly, the blue did not show in the scan. Have not made up my mind yet on it, it is fully uncirculated ,just been messed with. I feel it is probably worth ??? considering the jump in CDN spread, 63 BR bid is $230, 64 is MegAbUCKS. I'll try to get pics up later
It is going to have to depend on you. Looming at Heritage, ANACS MS-60 cleaned coins have sold for anything between $70 and $900. Obviously, the answer depends more on eye appeal than just "it has been cleaned.
That is nice. I cant see in the pic what you are seeing when you say cleaned, but then again Im not the best at spotting that, especially in a picture. How much does it list at MS63 brown???? Anyhow, I notice you took pics of the coin out of its holder. Have you already made up your mind as to keep it??? I know most sellers dont allow returns once removed from their holder. Either way, I like it and it looks alot better to me now than it did in the origional auction pictures. But to me, $200 sounds about fair price. I dont think you won but I dont think you lost either.
The coin came in an unsealed flip...... I will keep it at $200, cleaned and all. I have been after this date for years and will accept the problems, I have never seen one like this sell for less than $200, it would prolly go $4-5 with better pics and an accurate and detailed explanation in the description. The grain in this runs at a 45 degree angle, it appears as hairlines, but it is not, look at reverse for same grain pattern running opposite, it's a streaky planchet This sold for $5 plus and is not even in the same league as the one I got for $2, the luster has been scrubbed right off: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=330203767558&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=014
If it were any other date, I would say you ae nuts to take a cleaned coin. But, any kind of red on those is rare.
I agree to the I am nuts thing, but, it will eventually pan out. I do not think it right to gamble and use the dealer as an approval service. This will work itself out later, in an HONEST ebay auction, I will recover surely.
