Does anyone experienced with this type of software want to help out a fellow CT member?

My wife wants these photo backgrounds and she keeps getting sniped at the last minute. I was hoping one of the experts here could help me to be her hero.

    Please?

gavelsnipe is free and is connected to Heritage also, it bids for you at 18 second mark, i use it when not home. Pay programs include PowerSnipe, ESnipe and they both are adjustable timing.

Best bet is use your watch sweephand, but don't expect to get real close if on dial up, a cable connection can get you wth fractions of a second with practise

thanks Jack! I remember your post about being unbeatable at sniping... hoped I could get the name of the program that you use. She keeps getting sniped at the last. Are the pay programs expensive? Which one do you use? I don't buy very much on eBay, and trying to balance all of the considerations.

Is this the result of a bid sniping program???? I bid in the last few seconds, but the other bidder has 10 bids higher than mine. And Ive never seen that before. So, is that the result of a Bid sniping program or did this guy just realy want the coin????

I think that this is without question a sniping program and a person who either is new at using it, or is unfamiliar with it's settings. ...or they could have a really really bad twitch... LOL

I use a freebie called Justsnipe. Gives me only 5 a week for free but.....Places the bid at 8 seconds if I am not mistaken.

UHG people and there auto sniping programs, Im sorry if this offends anyone but it seems a bit over obsessive when you need to pay for a program to buy stuff for you.

it doesn't offend me, but the fact is, that if I can buy an item for less, then where is the logical reason to not do so? I am trying to purchase an item on ebay that never has a bid until the end, and then I always get outbid at the last. I don't want to overpay in order to win the item and so I am checking all available avenues.

Does this offend your sense of fair play in some way to use a sniping program? Because I don't think it's "obsessive" to want to save money.

    Just my 2¢

I use auctionsniper its free to sign up first 3 snipes are free and any auctions won after the first 3 are 25c. Bid time is adjustable.

I dont really use it to save money. I use it because I forget to bid on auctions that I have an interest in. What I have seen in my 10+ years on ebay is the following:

    a. If there are bids on an item, it has a tendency to get bid higher in the last few seconds.

    b. If there are no bids on an item in the last few minutes, chances are it wont grab a bid, I dont know why this is but like I said, 10+ years of being active on ebay.

    c. Snipes are good for auctions, I used to think the other way. I know that if I want an item, I set a price in my head, I either bid on the item at that moment or I write it down to think about. If its an item that has sale power. ie.. Large Cents, I know that it will garner bids even if its a junk coin. I decide what I am willing to pay, set my snipe and forget about it. Some I win, some I loose. The ones that I lose I wouldnt have won anyway since I already had a price in mind, just playing the game and placing my bid last is all.

Hope this makes sense, does to me ; )

if something has alot of bids on it I think its human nature to say.,. I am missing something, relook at that coin..... When you do relook, its what the heck, its only another 5 bucks.. Placing a snipe resolves the FEVER issue.

Make sure that your snipe is your largest amount your willing to pay or it will never work for you.

    Good Luck and happy ebaying...

What is the advantage of bidding at THE LAST second? As long as you bid later than someone has a chance to respond, what does later gain? I do, however see disadvantages. If the bid is now $100 and I am going to bid $104, then I should win as long as no one else bids more, right? Actually the answer is not necessarily. If there is another bid at $103 and he bids first, it will not take my bid. (Then the current bid will be $102.5 and I must bid at least $105.) Also, If my bid is $106, I will win. Yes, but if I bid first, eBay will not take the $103 bid and I win for $102.50. If the $103 bid is first, I still win but for $105.50.

i use to like yahoo auctions where if a bid was placed in the last seconds the auction would extend another 5 min.

And what do you think happens when more 1 person uses a sniping program on the same auction ? You are still at risk, you still may lose, and you still may pay way too much for the coin.

manual sniping is more of a game for me, thats all. It is correct unless your bid is higher, sniping will not do anything, but is sure fun to get a last second bid in and win an item. When using software, only the high bid gets in, same thing

Sniping is designed to not allow others to see your interest in an item...if a strong Lincoln buyer see's you bidding thru the week 4 times, he is likely to bid higher knowing you might be there at the end as well, if you come out of the blue, then 1. you have not shown your interest, 2. more bids can start a bidding war, 3. it may also help keep price stay a cpl increments lower. I swear by it when buying, and hate it when I'm selling

I use vrane.com on the rare occasions that I bid. One free snipe at a time but that's all I need.

I use this as I don't like to show my hand and let someone know I'm interested.

Most of the time I lose but I don't have to be home to do it.

On the occasions that I do win it's always a good deal.

Manual sniping is an easy matter, and kind of fun. Simply refresh the page to see your system's reaction time and then submit the bid accordingly. I think I was bidding 3 or 4 seconds before close, when I was "winning" a few months ago.

Some snipe software is free but has limitations (e.g., only one snipe at a time). Others cost you to use (e.g., 25 cents per successful snipe). Is there a GOOD snipe software that is FREE to use without limitations? I don't mind paying for a good one up front but I really hate those on-going charges.

A question on how these snipe programs work: Does your computer have to running and connected to the Internet and a browser open to your eBay account for them to work? This would seem to be the case for a software program you load onto your computer. Does someone offer sniping services that are done through their server instead? (If so, I would guess those services would not be free.)

No your computer does not need to be on. The auctions you are going to snipe are on the sniping providers server, all you do is set the variables and check later for wins at your convenience.
