Hi all, This evening I was looking at different websites I have bookmarked to see if there were any interesting Mint Errors for sale at a good price. So, I found this item - $1 Sacagawea with a 5% Clipped Planchet in a PCGS Slab It caught my attention and I am the kind of collector that likes simple Mint Errors such as this one available... but I saw the price and did a double take! I quickly purchased it.. but now I wonder if it was a price mistake on the sellers part.. or maybe it is not Now I will just wait and see if the item arrives! Only time will tell!
$10 doesn't seem like too much. They must be taking a loss on the grading fee? What do these usually run? It is MS-65. It can always be an X-Mas gift to yourself. I rarely buy anything for myself, so when I do, I don't feel guilty about it.
About items such as these. I don't collect them other than save them if I find them. To the diligent collector - is this type of error hot now and again? Or, does their interest sustain itself over long periods?
@Michael K @TyCobb @Dave363 @wcoins @Amos 811 @Bambam8778 The seller returned the money to my PayPal account.. Looks like it was their mistake and I am not receiving the item. I should mess with them and make a big deal about it!
That's too bad. I thought it was pretty cool. They must have under listed the price? While I wouldn't make a big deal about it, they are violating the truth in advertising laws. Like when something is listed in the supermarket at the incorrect (lower) price, they have to sell it to you at that price. Did they mean to list it at $99.95 instead of 9.95? (Still too high.) I don't know the value of these things but the EBAY price seemed WAY too high.
That's unfortunate. Really should have honored it and if it was a third party posting, they should have had to make up the difference to the seller.
It seems like $10 would be a fair price for that common error. Clips aren't rare, especially ones that small. $140 would definitely be a rip-off!
