I think the reverse design on those differs a bit. All of the ones purchased have that pyramid type form on the one I posted.

It was listed as an issue under this ruler...

    Very nice, Mark.

Mine has similar scratches, wonder if it means anything?

Here's a new pickup for my Artex Restrikes set:

Hungary 1892KB 10 Korona UP Restrike
    Artex Restrike (UP)
    KM-485 (1892-1915)

Supposedly 6,880 were struck in 1967, however, it appears to be significantly rarer than comparable restrikes with 1000 pieces. Possibly much of the mintage was produced as a test for the French market like other gold restrikes in this series, and later melted down.

The rarity scale used in Hungary goes up to 10, where an R10 is a coin that is "thought to exist" and an R9 is unique. This restrike is listed as an R7 on that scale to give you an idea. This is only the second example I've ever seen on the market, and I've been looking. This will make a nice companion piece for my 1892KB 20 Korona UP Restrike (R8).

Bought these today (along with a bunch of other circulated world silver coins) for basically silver value:

I knew I didn't have these types yet, but was happy to find out that they are low mintage coins ~ 24,000 & 35,000 mintage respectively and looking at Ebay recent sales, this was another great pickup.

How do you tell the restrikes from the originals?

  19. Jaelus

    Jaelus The Hungarian Antiquarian Supporter

It depends on the restrike. In this case, the restrike mark is a "U P" at 4 o'clock on the reverse.
