I'm just glad you didn't ask about the toning (NT vs AT)....

And, beans in my chili but never from a can. :yack:

And, I would eat my finger if it was wrapped in bacon.:nailbiting:

Speaking of bacon, I cooked some quail poppers on the grill last weekend. Sliced quail breast laid against a Philly cream cheese filled half jalapeño pepper (scooped out the seeds and membrane), wrapped in bacon. Cooked until the bacon was crispy, delicious!

only if it is Jalapeno cornbread!

I see we no not have many texasmonthly chili converts here -

But don’t look for a united Texan front when it comes to defining “authentic” (except for a near universal, almost hysterical aversion to the inclusion of beans).

I enjoy reading recipes and the bean / no bean fights.

“Chile con carne” = Chiles (hot stuff, in this case with beans and meat (chopped/ground), so I suppose you could have just the carne or just the beans. But all three together, a marriage arranged in heaven! Even from a can.... Chile with rice? Why not? Rice & beans REALLY works (esp. when you add chile), so why not? Gotta try it.
By the way I am authoritatively informed that bacon goes with durn near ANYTHING. (Coffee? Peaches? maybe not....)

A friend of mine puts macaroni in his chili and I don't care for it, really. I like your polls, lordmarcovan.[/QUOTE]
When I was a kid, if you put macaroni in the chili it was called "slum gum". Not the coin of course, I ain't dat stupid. I like A.

Just for the heck of it, here's one of my favorite denarius. Have owned it since around 1983 or so when I made the switch from US to ancients and world coins.

Settled on Byzantine, but still collect a nice numismatic piece. And yes, I do have a slabbed Morgan or Peace dollar. That entire group is at 5 easy pieces.

You don't need jalapeno cornbread if you make your chili correctly. Burn your dang mouth chili is fantastic over a nice sweet cornbread. One of my favorite meals........now I am hungry. :(
