I have been regularly checking @Severus Alexander’s website to see when the auction gets posted, and I was happily surprised to see it up and running today. I have yet to look through all of the offering, but I am sure I will find some exciting coins. :)

I've been waiting patiently (or not) checking biddr almost daily. I'm thoroughly impressed at the variety (a nice representation of Chinese), sheer volume (490+ lots!!), and exquisite quality of the coins! (beyond mine, of course... no, really!)... And a nice pick-bin selection!

I'm really excited that with SA's auction, we're able to "keep it local", not necessarily geographically, but relatively "local" to CT members (close to home). I had some fun going through coin-by-coin trying to guess who consigned it.

WooHOO!! How wonderful to see one of our own launching an ancient (and medieval) auction house!

I've been looking forward to the unveiling of the first sale :). It looks like the starting prices are very low (yay). I think the "Pick Bins" are going to be very popular. I see several in the Greek Pick Bin that I will be bidding on. The starting prices remind me of London Ancient Coins, except LAC's 5 and 10 GBP coins are not as nice. I've started my watch list already :).

I'm also happy he's listing previous owners by CoinTalk names in some instances-- it's fun to collect coins formerly owned by forum friends. Hoping to pick up an ex-zumbly and ex-jamesicus!

Potential consignors, here's something to be aware of: Sev offers a 120% price guarantee for your consignments. If the coin sells for only the starting bid, you will get paid 120% of that amount. Consignment info is here.

A certain James Pickering has a wonderful collection of Britannic related coins in this one. I just reviewed the lots. Some really wonderful offerings.

One reading quirk. The auction date reads “Sa, 01.12.2018, from 11:00 AM CS”. My American eyes first read that as January 12 (which wouldn’t make sense because the year would be 2019), but I guess the Canadians follow the Brits in placing the day first. So the auction date is December 1.

I think we Americans are alone in using the mm/dd/yy format. The rest of the world uses dd/mm/yy, and I think they have it right.

Can't wait for this auction! It's going to be lit. Canada is amazing!

I have no opinion about that. I would just hate for people to get confused and think the auction is in January when it’s in December and fail to bid because they just glanced at the date misread it.

True. Something like "Dec 01 2018" might be preferable.

Actually, the Chinese do it right: yyyy.mm.dd.hh.mm.ss You can sort files easily!

Well @TypeCoin971793 is a sleuth! The auction link isn't on the biddr list yet, that's a "sneak preview" link (fully functional, and accepting bids). I guess all AMCC auctions get listed on the link from my website, sneak preview or not!

PM me (or email me, address at the website) if you find any mistakes/typos. I'm just going through it now to check.

As for the date format, that's standard biddr procedure. I certainly hope it doesn't throw anybody off! :bucktooth:

Thanks so much for all the positive comments!! I am pretty excited.

Congrats @Severus Alexander on getting this up and running. I already have several lots on my watch list and will be bidding on a number of the coins listed. Low starting bids and great quality coins...cannot beat that.

I am really looking forward to the auction.

Watch list entries have a less-confusing form of the date.
