Just bought a 1954 proof Jefferson that has a DDO feature. The pictures aren't great but in hand the doubling is clear. Best on the date but also present on the obverse wording. Wasn't able to find one listed in the cherry pickers guide. Any information on the coin is appreciated. Thanks for looking. Joe
By golly I think he's got one. Thing is, it may not be on the die. Every nickel in proof has been struck at least twice. The coin may have shifted between hits.
Wow, that's it! You guys are awesome, really appreciate the help. Any suggestions on if it's worth getting it slabbed and attributed? Thanks again.
If you intend to make a collection of proof DDO's and DDR's, then by all means, have it slabbed. If it's going to be a "one off", meh, maybe not.
Looks interesting, especially with the thick numbers. Try sending it to Wexler's for attribution. Very affordable. http://doubleddie.com/402401.html
Very cool. I've found a couple of cool varieties the last year or two. I'm starting to think this variety collecting could be a lot of fun... Need to continue to learn more about the resources available online to help with this. Thanks everyone!
