Package Opening Fail.

I ordered a silver eagle dollar and a silver quarter for $14 shipped. It was a great price, so I get the package today and cut it open and the dollar falls to the ground and rolls away and I can not find it.

That's a mighty big coin to not be able to find!

I've had Mercs or Wheats roll under a desk, but I've never lost something as large as a dollar!

 

My apartment is kind big and it sounded like it rolled quite a bit, I know it is strange considering the coin is pretty big but I am still looking :-(

 

Do you have a metal Detector?

Try dropping the Silver Quarter in the same direction. Then follow it and see where is goes!

 

I have cut into the top of an envelope with scissors and damaged a coin. I was expecting some sort of protection....nope. Bare coin in an envelope. Ebay huh!

 

I drop cents all the time and they hit the wall in back of the desk. I always find them and thank goodness they weren't worth more than face.

 

You just have to be slow and organized. Trial and error.
Turn out the lights, get down on the floor and shine a flashlight everywhere.
It might show itself.

 

I don't open packages until I am sitting down, and have a soft surface for things to fall on if they roll out. Good habit that has never led me astray.

 

Always open the package over something soft, like your bed. Get on your knees with a flashlight and tear that room apart. And no, that's never happened to me. Not! That's why I use my bed now.

Try asking yourself, Where would I hide if I was Silver Dollar?

 

They roll and stand up on edge and can be hiding in a weird place.

It's always the last place you look. Although, if it was only the 4th to last place you looked and you found it, why would you keep looking?

 

There might be more where that came from!!!
