Yesterday I picked up $15 in loose halves from one bank...Nothing. Tomorrow I will pickup 6 boxes of halves while traveling. I will report any finds as I search the boxes during the next few days.

    HH all!

Thanks but how do you determine it is a proof?

Since 1969 any S coin is Proof. Before then, usually the luster or the detail of the strike will let you know. A proof stands out from a business strike.

Go on ebay and order a cent sorter, its not expensive, take a box that rems of printer paper comes in cut a hole in the top place a cardboard piece and place in the center and place a copper or zinc cent in the sorter, place on top of the box and start running your cents through it and it will split your zinc and copper for you and then all you have to do is check the copper cents.

Today my first four boxes for the week, only one skunk, didn't pull much, still happy to get something. 1-64D, 1-65, 2-67, and 1-86 Nation of Imm Commemorative.

I’ve done hundreds of bags that size. No stress, you just need a system and sorting bins and boxes. Pull the years you want to check, keep them separated by year, and check them later. Checking as you go will slow things down incredibly. Message me if you want any more tips.

I stopped at People's Bank in Cold Springs.
Got a box with roughly 38 white wrapped rolls and 12 cointainer type rolls. Only 3 rolls down so far but pulled a decent 40s wheat from a roll. In other news the Dodge Avenger we acquired is going on insurance today.

    No problem...just go slowly.

Last week I did a similar amount. We did a coin drive at our Elementary school in anticipation of the Fall book fair and I got to go through all the coins.

In about $150 of cents, I found about 45 wheats ranging 1919-1958. It was pretty fun.

Unfortunately, unlike last year, there was no silver in the dimes.

Pulled a decent 1936 wheat out of a roll today.

Would be a whole lot nicer if they came with hoppers instead of putting the pennies in 1 at a time.

Yeah I have tackle boxes with the error years that interest me labeled so I can sort them into and search at a later time. Just the idea of how long it will take me to check every one for rotation and read the date on 15,000 coins. It would be a lot different if they were halves, quarters or even Nickels!

Your post can use some context. For example, did you buy the nickels and high-grade wheat from a dealer or did you find these from searching rolls from a bank?
