Was coin roll hunting. Wanted to know if these were garage coins and why the one on the right is a sort of coppor color. Has anyone seen anything like this?

1st one is definitely damaged. I think that the second 1951 nickel obtained such a color through 50 years of circulation

So, first one is worth $0.05, and second one might be worth $0.20-$0.25.

Simple Environmental Damage. Not a mint error.. Just a toned nickel

looks like the first one may have spent some time in a dryer.

Not garage coins, garbage coins...although worth face and maybe $0.25 for the second one.

The 51-S has some value. But the 51 plain is almost a spender in that condition,
there's just no market for it. 20 cents is about right.
The other one is a damaged nickel.
