This kind of condition is actually fairly common for wheats from that era. They're not seen too often because dealers filter them out but if one goes go through old source wheats that were removed from circulation in the '60's and early '70's (in contemporary change purses that have been stored away, for example) it's quite common to see wheats from the teens with this kind of wear.

Have found a couple decent wheats and coppers from the current box. Going to do 5 more very soon.

Are grocery stores good for Coin rolls? MY bank wont give me boxes of coin rolls anymore

Short answer: no. A good store will only bring enough coin to manage a day or two of business. They shouldn’t be too happy to give out rolls. Perhaps when the store is about to close, or right before they go their bank, it could work, but timing is everything.

Older grocery stores, or ones in impoverished areas have from time to time nice coins come in the cash registers. I wouldn’t count on being able to do any more than ask to buy something in the register.

This teller called me today to say that the half dollar bag has to be full ($1000), before they can sell it to me. I mentioned that another branch in the neighboring town regularly sells me partial bags. She called over there and found out how to do that, and then sold me the partial bag ($68.50). I gave all the tellers some homemade cookies, and gave her an XF 1974-D DDO to thank her. She did not know about this DDO and thus did not have one in her collection. She beamed and said, “You made my day!”

    Got home and found:
    15 x 1967
    1 x 1968-D
    1 x 2002-P NIFC
    1 x guitar pick, lol!

Got this sweet 1955-D quarter from a teller tray today...has a spot of tarnish on the back but otherwise in great shape and very low mi tage. She gave me this and a 1964 quarter to round 2.50 in halves up to an even $3. Sbe knew the quarters were silver. No silver in the halves, though.

I got to go over to another small town after work to get my truck registration. There are a couple banks over there. I think maybe I'll change my luck.
