We all know I'm extremely bad at this so lets get that out of the way. Now I went to Harbor Freight and the girl gave me back 2 coins that both really look doubled to me. I did my digging and feel I saw enough to say yes. The 1960 D has all 3 die cracks for markers as well. The forehead , lower left wing to leaf, and bottom of the I in United. Doubling in BERTY or no? if so its the best thing I've got from that store for sure I will post 2nd coin in reply
By the way.. Doubled Dies fall under the Variety category, not Mint Errors https://www.ngccoin.com/news/article/1655/Variety-versus-Mint-Error/
I don't want to be a bubble buster but IMO all I'm seeing is DDD but with that being said I have been wrong before so let's see what other's think. Dave
You know what I meant I think. So the T and the 9 that's all DDD? I've read and understand the minting process and how dies are made. I'm not just trying to get this stuff given to me.
Hey you got a silver quarter in change thats something!!!! Dont see any doubling. Nice score on the silver!!!!!
To say the least, an being new to this hobby, we have to say thanks to all who help educate us on here. I live in Central Ks. and have went to shows an shops an leave feeling dumb. Usually turn all coins in, but always start over. Don't give up.
The key word is hobby and if you enjoy it don't worry about what other people think. Do whatever it takes to make it enjoyable to you. Some people are experts in their own mind and other are experts in other's minds. You're always going to run into people who know more about a given coin or coins than you do. If you are unsure of something, ask. Most dealers and collectors that I've known were more than happy to share their knowledge.
I understand where you are coming from been there myself many times but IMO you have to look at all of it, not just what we think it might be. Dave
Yeah I trying to remember that but never follow it. I swear my being color blind really causes me to see different shadowa, lines , etc..
