Wow,that's alot of quarters!!! I've been unable to save my finds. I get about $100 worth saved and something pops up and I'll have to cash it in. Breaks my heart when I have to do it. Someday I'll be able to hang onto it lol.
The pennies I have been spending in the coin acceptor at the grocery. Although I hold back an equivalent cash amount. Just too many to save. Held out the wheaties and a few well conditioned memorials. Be at 9000 soon. One day I will have to cash in the nickels, dimes and quarters. (Saving the halves, dollars and precious metals.) But I figure I can do that later. Almost up to 7 jars of 500 dimes. Be a few more weeks.
Very nice!! As I am starting a new family and working a meager job,I can only keep certain coins and pieces that I think are cool.ill keep everything untill I have to use it which is about every two months or so. Here is my last outing,I think one of the quarters got it with a mower....and I like the little hand cuffs.
The only cool find I ever made was a 1937 Wheat penny. It was on family land, though, so it is very possible my great-grandfather was the one who dropped it. I thought that was cool.
Since I live in Germany, I found a copper Kreuzer from Baden. It was struck in 1866 and found it while searching with my detector near the way of St. James.
We'll see what happens this weekend. There's still parks, but they are not as lucrative as the schools. Some of the schools are sort of attached to public parks and they have to stay open on the weekends. And sometimes they forget to lock up the jail/gates/locks/chains, but there's no guarantee I am checking that one the time they forget to lock it. I sort of knew this was coming. It's mostly fear and paranoia as they are trying to take measures to stop an active shooter. Locking me out of the playground with my tax money is certainly going to do that. (rolls eyes) And now some a-hole just lit one of the school playgrounds on fire. A good spot too. This happened at another school playground last year. (Not as good a spot, but better before the fire.) It's a disgrace. I am always super respectful about other people's property, but they are shutting me out. It's only s matter of time. I had a good run.
Man I hate to hear that, it's sad that people just can't live in peace and do what's right. I just hope that everything calms down your way and you can get back to popping all those quarters lol.
went to a new spot today I had been checking out for about a week now. I walked by and the fence was unlocked so I ran in for about 2 hours and hit my first small dollar yeah!!!! I love bicentennials and 77 is my birthday so these are the highlights for my day. Hope you guys have all the luck in the world and happy hunting!!!
Sweet hunt Mike!! I'm headed out now kinda late, but better then never. I just hope to bring back half of one of your hauls lol.
Awesome day out today. Went back to the same place as yesterday and the practice field was unlocked.within 5 minutes I hit both small dollars 2 feet from each other. I didn't even do half of the place so I'm looking forward to more hauls like this one, I hope!!! Happy hunting everyone.
Nothing much happening today. I knew it would be from the spots I was hitting. Maybe tomorrow I can scrape something up. I did find a 1988 commemorative Russian ruble, about the size and weight of a half dollar. That is the image of the Russian writer Maxim Gorky. So that was interesting.
So it's nice to get a half. But I am permanently locked out of 2 good spots. It's the beginning of the end. "Your tax dollars at work!"
