Metal Detecting - 2018 Soccer Medal

Hi all,
I did a quick 4 hour Metal Detecting hunt this morning. Got a nice 1955 Wheat, ring (junker) and US Coins.

Totals -
25 Cents - 20 each
10 Cents - 15 each
5 Cents - 6 each
1 Cent - 30 each
1 Wheat Cent - 1955
1 - Junker Ring
1 - 2oz Fishing Weight
1 - 2018 Urban Soccer Medal​

I get excited finding 1955's.. Looking for DDO but not this time

That medal is probably for U8 (under 8) year olds soccer.

The website shows the same park I found the medal.. It also mentions it. The East River Park

We know the soccer medal was recently lost.
Probably in the past few weeks.

 

Maybe the winner threw it away.

It was detected under 4 inches of overgrown grass. Most of my finds are top soil and in grass finds. I have been detecting this same park for about 8 years now and pretty much dug out most of the buried items.

 

I found another Soccer Medal whilst Metal Detecting yesterday! Same field!

 

Someone got really pissed with second place....

Mens' league so the they were over 18

 

I see they didn't spare any expense with the quality of the metal in the awards. Corroded already since spring. I would have thrown it away too.
