Red Book or Mega Red Book?

The 2019 Red Books are starting to go on sale and I need to pick one up. My question is whether the Mega Red is worth the premium or is the spiral bound Red Book the way to go. I see the regular edition listed for less than $10 lately, while the Mega version is being discounted to under $30.

I'm a dime nut and the 2019 Mega edition includes a detailed section on dimes, so that has me leaning toward the more expensive one. But I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!

I have to Maga Red and I like it.
There's a lot more information and detailed photos for comparison I think it's worth the little bit of premium specially for the high quality pictures.

Both regular and mega have their place. The megas have more detail on issues and varieties, and each edition has some special coverage of particular issues. However, the megas are too big for most folks to lug around at shows and meetings, but the regulars are handy for this. If you get a new mega each year, they start to take up a lot of shelf space. I have a couple of megas but am not sure I want more. I get a new regular every 3-4 years. There's not much to interest me after the 1950's, but other collectors may need data on the newest coins.

That's what I was thinking. One mega would be enough. Then maybe get a new regular edition in a few years if I felt the need. Plus I get the extra dime coverage in this year's edition, which is an interest of mine.

If the article in the Mega Red suits your needs then it's a no brainer.

I got it! The dime section is cool, I'm glad I spent the extra money. I'll be posting some dime questions to the experts as a result.

I recommend a copy of the Mega-Red, it's a wealth of information. As mentioned, it's not a book you're going to carry with you at the coin show, though.

Mega Red Book if ya don't want to wear your glasses (large print) and if ya want a little more detailed info........but in the end, it's still 'old news'........
