If you had enough time, the mark under Louis's bust could tell you where it was made and what year it is. The hard part would be finding images for every single year for every single mint that made these.

Awesome on having a 220+ year old error coin! Numista is very helpful for coins like these.

1958 US Cent Struck On Cuban 1 Centavo

Most of the details from the Cuban coin have been obliterated by the subsequent strike.

Yes, rotated reverse. You don't think the 1927 is rotated a little?

I think perhaps a little, but I think your coin might also not be exactly straight when looking at the reverse, which makes it harder to tell. I’m sure you can tell better than I can, with it in hand.

Ok. I am going to acetone it and when I do I will try for a mirror picture to be sure.

1827 1/2 skilling Double Struck? What do you folks think?

Seller’s photos, $9 shipped. Seller accepted my offer. I do not have a photo of the other side. Will post when I get it.

I personally think I see it too, but it doesn’t quite match with the alignment of the other doubling I see. I look forward to inspecting this one in hand. I can’t believe it went for so cheap, but error coins are a niche market.
