Could this strange looking mintmark be a RPM on this 1952-D Nickel?

I found this Jefferson nickel with a strange looking D mint mark and wondered if it is a RPM? Any comments would be appreciated?

    Thanks,

It looks like a double-punched mintmark.

    Hi Charlie,

It's tough to tell from your photo. But looking at the rest of the coin it appears that you have a very late die state coin and the Mint mark could have strike or ejection doubling creating the appearance of a repunched Mint mark. Are there any signs of serif splits on the Mint mark?

Thats the best picture available of the coin, it is actually a picture from a dealers website.
