Just found this today while searching through a jug of coins after my grand mother passed away. It appears to be a DD but Im not sure exactly is going on with this coin, looks like maybe two different errors possibly?
Sorry about your grandmother. Your Cent is classic DDD - Die Deterioration Doubling Not a Doubled Die variety Worn Die strike caused the appearance you are seeing.
Thanks for the reply guys. Still learning... and after googling some other DDD images I believe you are correct. Pity cause otherwise it's in great condition. I'll keep searching still plenty to go through!
