What is this? How much would it be worth? I'm new to this. This is my first error coin found. :)

    A very nice cud.
Cuds come from a die with a piece broken from it.
For a possible value, do a search of completed sales on eBay.
Here is a site where you can learn more:

It's so nice to see an actual error posted by someone new. Congrats!

That's a beauty. Unfortunately, there are no price guides on these. Or, if there are, they aren't any you can trust. The way you sell coins like this is, "Make me an offer." There's no obligation until you accept. This is a real nice cud, though, as far as they go, and on a real nice-looking coin, too.

Pulled out my LMC 1980 P cud. Same location of the cud. A problem with the press alignment?

Both breaks, same place. What’s the odds?

Broken dies might not be discovered and replaced until they have struck thousands of coins, so the odds are not very long.

@BooksB4Coins took the words right out of my mouth. When one sees the words “error coin” and “first” in the same post it is SO nice to be surprised! This one’s a dandy.

That's a nice cud. It would be a keeper for me.
To get more eyes on your coin, you really should start your own thread in the error coin section. And always show both sides of the coin.
