I already had a Trajan, but just cannot resist yellow Sestertii. So now I have two. Sigh...

    P2150076.jpg

IMP CAES NER TRAIANO OPTIMO AVG GER DAC PM TRP COS VI PP -
Laureate bust of Trajan right, slight drapery on left shoulder
SENATVS POPVLVSQVE ROMANVS, S C across fields -
Felicitas, draped, standing left, holding up short caduceus in right and cornucopiae in left
    Sestertius, Rome, 214-216
    25,72 gr / 34 mm
RIC 672 var. (different bust type). Cohen 352 var. (different bust type), BMCRE -, Sear -, Banti -, Woytek 534b.

The reverse of this Sestertius is dedicated to the Senate and the People of Rome and shows Felicitas, her caduceus symbolizing general well-being and economic prosperity.

What do you with "unnecessary" double purchases? Sell one or keep both?

Very attractive coin! I'd keep that one for sure. I'd also keep the other one, unless one is an upgrade of the same coin or something like that.

Julius Germanicus, why don't you leave it in the open air for a while, preferably in your kitchen, so it acquires some toning.....

Congrats and gorgeous coin @Julius Germanicus ! Nice Sestertius!

I captured this As for the "SENATVS POPVLVSQVE ROMANVS". It seems very few Roman coins fully spell out SPQR.

That is a neat coin and an interesting observation - I had not realized that this iconic words are rarely spelled out!

    Ha ha ha... never! :p

Curious @Julius Germanicus , is this the correct date in your attribution?

Sure, it's the rare Restitution issue under Caracalla.
Just kidding, it's a typo due to my mind being mostly stuck in the 3rd Century :p
