1952 d wheat with an obvious error, it has the words in god in reverse on the bottom rim on the reverse side and the obverse has error where the w in we along with the upper portion is smashed. I can’t find any info on this and have looked for days, please help! Need to know what it’s worth.
Vise job - where two coins are pressed against each other to create this effect post-mint. PMD (post minting damage) not an error.
Welcome to Cointalk Your coin appears to have some damage based on your photo. Dave Oh I see you are from Oklahoma I'm about an hour from you Welcome.
The die was very overused and the pattern slowly "oozed" to the outer perimeter and merged with the rim area. We use the term deteriorated die . The W and also most of the other letters show this. Reversed letters commonly result from using one coin to press into another , maybe even a different denomination using a vise or other squeezing motion. Some thus call it a "Squeeze job" . Some unknowing people spend money thinking it is worth multitudes. Welcome! but why only the first post when you joined in 2012? Jim
Mostly, but maybe not to someone who wants to learn from it. As you read through similar titled threads you will find 99.99% will the same situation. The squeeze is fakery, but the deteriorated die doubling will be thought as "doubled die" hundreds of times before the end of the year. It is hard to assign a "worthless value" if people learn from it. Jim
