    No close AM varieties exist before 1992.There were some 1992 cents that were struck with 1993 close AM reverse dies, but that is the earliest date you can find close AM dies.
    So why does your cent look like a close AM? I'm thinking it's most likely damaged, hit with a flat object, or something like that, but it's definitely not a close AM.
