Salghurid. Atabeg Abish of Persia (1265-1285) AE Fals. Shiraz. Atabeg Abish within hexagram. Reverse: A hidden symbol to be discovered. AR Dirham. Shiraz. Similar issue but with same hidden symbol on obverse. Both issues were during the reign of Atabeg Abish who was a puppet ruler under the overlords of the Mongol Khan. Though Islamic, a governor of the Khan who was assigned as co-ruler went against the existing Islamic codes and embedded a secret foreign element into these coins. Needless to say it angered the Queen so much that he was sent back to the court of Kublai Khan and these issues were quickly discontinued. Let's see if you can spot the hidden code.

The Easter egg on these coins is the Chinese character 寶。To have a foreign Chinese character on Islamic coinage was considered not acceptable and according to Stephen Album, the governor was sent back to the court of Kublai Khan for this deviant and unacceptable act
